About Thought Devourer

Thought Devourer, Creature — beast, designed by Jim Nelson first released in Oct, 2001 in the set Odyssey.

This Thought Devourer card could be beneficial in a control deck that aims to disrupt the opponent's hand size and limit their options. However, there are potentially better options like Elder Deep-Fiend, which not only provides disruption but also has additional abilities like tapping down opponent's creatures. Whether Thought Devourer should see play depends on the specific strategy and synergy within the deck, but it could be a viable choice in the right build.

Rules

10/01/09

If multiple effects modify your hand size, apply them in timestamp order. For example, if you are affected by Cursed Rack (an artifact that sets a player’s maximum hand size to four) and then put Thought Devourer onto the battlefield, your maximum hand size would be zero. However, if those permanents entered the battlefield in the opposite order, your maximum hand size would be four.
