A control deck in Magic: the Gathering would benefit from using Thought Collapse, as it provides both spell disruption and mill potential. However, there are better cards like Counterspell or Mana Leak that offer more efficient spell counter abilities without the drawback of milling the opponent. Thought Collapse could see play in decks looking to capitalize on milling strategies, but in most cases, more traditional counterspells would be preferred for their reliability and efficiency.

A spell that can’t be countered is a legal target for Thought Collapse. The spell won’t be countered when Thought Collapse resolves, but its controller will still put the top three cards of their library into their graveyard.
