A deck that focuses on ramping up mana quickly and maintaining control of the game would benefit from including Regal Behemoth. This card can provide a significant advantage by generating additional mana of any color when tapped while being the monarch, allowing for explosive plays and resource advantage. While there may be more efficient ramp cards available, such as Mana Reflection or Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, Regal Behemoth can still be a strong inclusion in decks that aim to establish dominance through mana acceleration and maintaining the monarch status.

Being the monarch carries two inherent triggered abilities. “At the beginning of the monarch’s end step, that player draws a card” and “Whenever a creature deals combat damage to the monarch, its controller becomes the monarch.”

If the triggered ability that causes the monarch to draw a card goes on the stack, and a different player becomes the monarch before that ability resolves, the first player will still draw the card.

Regal Behemoth’s last ability is a triggered mana ability. It doesn’t use the stack and can’t be responded to.
