A control or spellslinger deck that focuses on casting noncreature spells would benefit from using Papalymo Totolymo, as it provides constant pinging damage to opponents and life gain. It can also act as removal by sacrificing itself to force opponents to sacrifice their highest power creature. However, there are likely better options for this effect in Magic: the Gathering such as Eidolon of the Great Revel or Pyrostatic Pillar depending on the specific strategy of the deck, so Papalymo Totolymo may not see much play in competitive environments.
