Maraxus, Vanguard, designed by Matthew D. Wilson first released in May, 1997 in the set Vanguard Series.
This card, Maraxus, would benefit an aggro deck looking to boost the power of its creatures and push for quick damage. However, there are better options like Honor of the Pure or Glorious Anthem which provide a similar effect for the same mana cost but have a broader impact. Maraxus could see play in a budget deck or in a specific tribal strategy where the +1/+0 bonus is particularly relevant, but in most cases, more versatile options would be preferred.
