About Insatiable Appetite

Insatiable Appetite, Instant, designed by Nils Hamm first released in Sep, 2019 in the set Throne of Eldraine and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

Insatiable Appetite would benefit a deck that focuses on generating Food tokens, as it provides a powerful buff to creatures in exchange for sacrificing a Food token. Decks that can easily create and utilize Food tokens, such as Golgari or Jund Sacrifice decks in Standard, would find this card valuable. However, there are potentially better options like Giant Growth or Colossal Majesty that offer similar effects without the need for a specific token type, so Insatiable Appetite may not see widespread play unless the Food token synergy is strong in a particular deck.

Rules

10/04/19

If an effect refers to a Food, it means any Food artifact, not just a Food artifact token. For example, you can sacrifice Gingerbrute to activate the last ability of Tempting Witch.

10/04/19

You choose a target creature as you cast Insatiable Appetite, but you don’t choose whether to sacrifice a Food until the spell resolves.
