Gathan Raiders, Creature — human warrior, designed by Paolo Parente first released in May, 2007 in the set Future Sight and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.
This card would be beneficial in a red aggressive deck that aims to empty its hand quickly to maximize the Hellbent ability of Gathan Raiders. However, there are potentially better options for a similar aggressive strategy, such as Goblin Guide or Monastery Swiftspear, which provide consistent damage output without the condition of having no cards in hand. While Gathan Raiders can be a powerful threat in the right circumstances, its reliance on Hellbent may make it less consistent and therefore may not see as much play in competitive decks.

Because damage remains marked on a creature until the damage is removed as the turn ends, nonlethal damage dealt to Gathan Raiders while your hand is empty may become lethal if a card is put into your hand during that turn.
