About Garruk's Horde

Garruk's Horde, Creature — beast, designed by Kev Walker first released in Jun, 2002 in the set Magic Online Promos and was printed exactly in 7 different ways.

A deck that focuses on creature-heavy strategies and has ways to manipulate the top card of the library, such as scrying or card draw effects, would benefit from including Garruk's Horde. While the card offers the advantage of casting creatures directly from the library, other cards like Collected Company or Chord of Calling may provide more immediate value in certain deck archetypes. However, Garruk's Horde could see play in decks that can take advantage of its unique ability to cast creatures from the top of the library.

Rules

04/15/13

If the top card of your library changes while you’re casting a spell, playing a land, or activating an ability, the new top card won’t be revealed until you finish doing so.

09/22/11

If the top card of your library is Dryad Arbor (the only card that’s both a creature and a land), you can’t play it this way. Dryad Arbor can’t be cast as a spell.

09/22/11

Normally, Garruk’s Horde allows you to cast the top card of your library if it’s a creature card, it’s your main phase, and the stack is empty. If that creature card has flash, you’ll be able to cast it at the time you could cast an instant, even on an opponent’s turn.
