About Death's Approach

Death's Approach, Enchantment — aura, designed by Terese Nielsen first released in Feb, 2013 in the set Gatecrash and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

A deck focused on filling the graveyard with creature cards would benefit most from Death's Approach, as it can significantly weaken opposing creatures. However, a more versatile option could be Darkblast, which not only fills the graveyard but can also be used as removal. While Death's Approach has its niche uses, its effectiveness may vary depending on the opponent's deck, so it may not see widespread play in competitive settings.

Rules

01/24/13

The value of X will change as the number of creature cards in the enchanted creature’s controller’s graveyard changes. Any time state-based actions are performed, if that creature’s toughness is 0 or less, or damage marked on it is equal to or greater than its toughness, the creature will be put into its owner’s graveyard.
