About Betrothed of Fire

Betrothed of Fire, Enchantment — aura, designed by Clint Langley first released in Jun, 1997 in the set Weatherlight.

This card, Betrothed of Fire, would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on sacrificing creatures for value, such as a Rakdos Sacrifice deck in Magic: The Gathering. While it offers a temporary boost to creatures' power, there are better cards like Village Rites or Claim the Firstborn that provide more impactful effects in sacrifice-based strategies. Betrothed of Fire could see play in more casual or thematic decks, but competitive decks would likely opt for more efficient options.

Rules

04/01/08

If you control Betrothed of Fire, but it’s attached to a creature you don’t control, no one can activate the last ability. The creature’s controller can’t activate it because that player doesn’t control the Aura. You can’t activate it because you can’t pay the cost — you can’t sacrifice a creature you don’t control.
