About Altar of Bone
Altar of Bone, Sorcery, designed by Melissa A. Benson first released in Jun, 1995 in the set Ice Age.
Altar of Bone is particularly beneficial in a deck that focuses on creature sacrifice and recursion, such as a Selesnya (G/W) strategy that utilizes tokens or creatures with beneficial death triggers. It can help you find key creatures to maintain pressure or set up combos, making it a solid choice in those builds. However, there are arguably better options like Fauna Shaman, which allows for more flexibility in creature selection without the sacrifice requirement, or Chord of Calling, which can search for creatures directly onto the battlefield. While Altar of Bone can see play in niche decks, it may not be the most efficient choice compared to these alternatives.
