The third season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians received its first teaser trailer during D23, Disney's event held this Friday (14). The preview reveals details from the adaptation of The Titan's Curse, the third book in the saga written by Rick Riordan.

In the new mission, Percy must find Annabeth after her mysterious disappearance. The video also previews the challenges the demigod and his allies will face as the threat of the Titans grows.

The footage offers the first glimpses of new characters set to be introduced in the episodes. Among the story's central elements is the Great Prophecy of the Oracle of Delphi, which states that a demigod child of one of the so-called "Big Three" will hold the fate of Olympus in their hands.

That character could lead the gods into a new era or bring about the destruction of Olympus. The season marks the first screen adaptation of The Titan's Curse.

“This season is much darker than any we have had before”

- Walker Scobell

Walker Scobell, who plays Percy, took part in the D23 presentation alongside Ming-Na Wen, who will play Hera, and Andra Day, cast as Athena. The actor also said the team was filming the third season while the second was airing. This allowed the cast and production team to follow audience reactions and incorporate some of that feedback into the new episodes.

The new season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians premieres on November 20 on Disney+.
