Filming for the second season of The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has come to an end. The conclusion was shared by Dexter Sol Ansell, who plays Egg, after he posted an audio clip to his Instagram stories capturing the moment when his involvement in the production was officially wrapped.Images from the set were hidden in the post, possibly to avoid prematurely revealing details about the new episodes. The wrap comes after scheduling changes caused by weather conditions in Gran Canaria, Spain.Production was supposed to be completed in June, but heavy rains hit the region and caused flooding. Gran Canaria had been chosen to represent the drought-stricken setting of the next story, but the storm temporarily halted filming.Despite the setbacks, the release is still expected in 2027. HBO has not yet announced the month or day of the premiere, but confirmed that the new season will air on the channel and be made available on HBO Max.The upcoming episodes will adapt The Sworn Sword, the second story about Dunk and Egg written by George R. R. Martin. In the plot, the two begin serving Ser Eustace Osgrey and become involved in a dispute over water and land against Lady Rohanne Webber, known as the Red Widow. The new adventure takes place about a year and a half after the events of the first season. Peter Claffey returns as Ser Duncan the Tall, while Dexter Sol Ansell continues as Egg, the young Targaryen prince who travels through Westeros disguised as a squire. The first season of The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is available on HBO Max. The second season will arrive on the platform in 2027, with no specific date set yet.
