Warner Bros. has released a new image from the Harry Potter series, featuring the admission letter sent to the protagonist inviting him to study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The image was shared by the Wizarding World Direct profile on August 21, 2026.

The image shows the letter alongside the Hogwarts logo. The document informs Harry that he has been accepted into the school and includes a list of the books and equipment required for the start of the school term on September 1. The message also asks him to reply by owl no later than July 31, referencing one of the story's best-known elements.

The new adaptation of J.K. Rowling's work will have seven seasons, each focusing on one of the series' books. The production has already been renewed for a second season, even before the first has premiered.

The second season will be based on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and is already entering production. The first season will adapt Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, following the journey of an orphan who discovers his magical heritage after being rescued from the home of his aunt and uncle, the Dursleys, by gamekeeper Rubeus Hagrid.

At Hogwarts, Harry will form the story's central trio alongside Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The series' showrunner is Francesca Gardiner, of Succession, and it will be directed by Mark Mylod, of Game of Thrones.

The production strategy calls for the seasons to be filmed close together, reducing problems related to the young actors' growth and the natural changes in their appearance over the years. Harry Potter is set to premiere globally on December 25, 2026, on HBO Max.
