Sony Pictures Brasil will release The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew in Brazilian theaters on February 11, 2027. The film will be shown in IMAX and will have an exclusive theatrical run before joining Netflix’s catalog.Its streaming debut is set for April 2, 2027. The theatrical window before its Netflix release will be roughly seven weeks.Directed by Greta Gerwig, known for Barbie, the feature adapts the sixth book in C. S. Lewis’s literary series. The story serves as a prequel to the events experienced by the Pevensie siblings in the franchise’s previous adaptations.The plot follows Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer, two children who travel to other worlds after Digory’s eccentric uncle, Andrew, sends them there using magic rings. Their journey leads them to witness the creation of Narnia and the beginning of Jadis’s threat, before she becomes the White Witch.David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell lead the cast as Digory and Polly. They are joined by Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Daniel Craig and Meryl Streep.The production budget is estimated at more than US$ 200 million. In Brazil, the film will be distributed by Sony Pictures, which also releases MGM Amazon Studios titles in the country, including Masters of the Universe and Verity.The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew is Greta Gerwig’s first adaptation set in the universe created by C. S. Lewis and will mark Narnia’s next return to theaters.
