Godzilla Minus Zero has received a new trailer released by Sato Company. The direct sequel to Godzilla Minus One raises the stakes by bringing the King of the Monsters to U.S. soil, with the Statue of Liberty among the locations featured in this new chapter of the story. The film is scheduled to hit Brazilian theaters on November 5, although the year was not specified in the domestic announcement. In the United States, the movie will have a special early-access IMAX screening on November 3 before expanding to other theaters on November 6. Tickets are already on sale there. The change in setting will also serve a narrative purpose. Takashi Yamazaki explained that the involvement of the U.S. Department of Defense, the Navy and the military will be central to the film’s themes. As a result, the sequel will feature dialogue in English, with Japanese characters speaking the language in some situations.Despite the international scale of the conflict, Godzilla Minus Zero will remain focused on the Shikishima family, who return after the events of the first film. For Yamazaki, following a family helps audiences feel the impact of events involving a kaiju of gigantic proportions. The sequel begins with the family enjoying a period of happiness. Two years after the events of Godzilla Minus One, however, Godzilla reappears and puts the characters in danger once again. The new threat shatters their brief sense of peace, forcing them back to “zero” as they face hardship, overcoming adversity and decisions defined by courage.Godzilla Minus One is available on Netflix in Brazil.
