About Wild Hypothesis
Wild Hypothesis, Sorcery, designed by Lie Setiawan first released in Apr, 2026 in the set Secrets of Strixhaven.
Wild Hypothesis would fit best in a Simic (green-blue) ramp or +1/+1 counters deck that can generate large amounts of mana and take advantage of scalable threats, especially in formats where you can reliably produce big X values; it’s particularly attractive in Commander, Standard-like midrange shells, or any build that cares about Fractals, +1/+1 counters, or graveyard setup. The surveil 2 adds meaningful value by smoothing draws or fueling graveyard synergies, making it stronger in decks that care about self-mill, flashback, escape, or reanimation. However, compared to cards like **Hydroid Krasis** (which provides card draw and life gain alongside a scalable body), **Hooded Hydra** (which leaves behind multiple bodies), or even **Finale of Devastation** (which can act as both a finisher and tutor), Wild Hypothesis is generally less powerful unless you specifically need the surveil or Fractal synergy. It’s playable in synergy-driven or budget builds, but in highly competitive environm
