Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest would be a great addition to a deck that focuses on casting a high number of noncreature spells to trigger its prowess ability and take advantage of its double strike potential. While Shu Yun can be a powerful card in the right deck, there are other cards like Monastery Swiftspear or Stormchaser Mage that may offer more consistent and immediate value in a similar strategy, making Shu Yun a situational choice that could see play in specific deck builds.

Any spell you cast that doesn’t have the type creature will cause prowess to trigger. If a spell has multiple types, and one of those types is creature (such as an artifact creature), casting it won’t cause prowess to trigger. Playing a land also won’t cause prowess to trigger.

Prowess goes on the stack on top of the spell that caused it to trigger. It will resolve before that spell.
