About Rescue from the Underworld

Rescue from the Underworld, Instant, designed by Raymond Swanland first released in Sep, 2013 in the set Theros and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.

A deck focused on sacrificing creatures for value, such as a Aristocrats deck in Magic: the Gathering, would benefit from using Rescue from the Underworld. While there are other cards like Unearth or Dread Return that offer similar effects, Rescue from the Underworld's ability to bring back two creatures at once can provide significant board presence. However, its high mana cost and the need to sacrifice a creature as an additional cost may limit its playability in faster formats.

Rules

09/15/13

If either the sacrificed creature or the target creature card leaves the graveyard before the delayed triggered ability resolves during your next upkeep, it won’t return.

09/15/13

Once you announce you’re casting Rescue from the Underworld, no player may attempt to stop you from casting the spell by removing the creature you want to sacrifice.

09/15/13

Rescue from the Underworld is exiled as it resolves, not later as its delayed trigger resolves.
