About Repulse
Repulse, Spell, designed by Kudos Productions first released in Mar, 2026 in the set Unleashed.
Repulse fits best in tempo or combo-centric decks that rely on keeping a single high‑value unit alive—such as a buffed carry, engine piece, or combo enabler—because it efficiently protects that unit from targeted removal or disruption for just 1 cost while maintaining tempo. It’s especially strong in aggressive or midrange builds that commit resources to one battlefield threat and can afford to hold up a small amount of interaction. However, its narrow condition (the spell or ability must target only that unit) makes it weaker than broader protection or counter options—cards that counter any spell, grant blanket protection/hexproof, or negate abilities without targeting restrictions are generally more flexible and therefore stronger in control or reactive shells. Repulse should see play in metas heavy on single-target removal and in decks built around key units, but it’s usually a meta or synergy inclusion rather than a universal staple.
