This card could be beneficial in an aggressive deck that aims to deal a lot of combat damage quickly. However, there are better options like Grafted Wargear or Loxodon Warhammer that provide additional benefits such as power boost or lifelink. In a competitive setting, Inquisitor's Flail may not see much play due to its vulnerability to removal and the existence of stronger equipment cards.

If a creature is equipped with a second Inquisitor’s Flail, combat damage dealt by and dealt to that creature will be multiplied by four. A third Inquisitor’s Flail would multiply the combat damage by eight, and so on.
