A deck that focuses on ramping up quickly and flooding the board with nonland permanents, such as token-based strategies or decks that utilize mana acceleration, would benefit most from Hour of Revelation. While it can be a powerful board wipe in the right circumstances, its high mana cost and conditional discount make it less efficient compared to other board wipe options like Wrath of God or Damnation, which are more universally effective and easier to cast. Hour of Revelation could see play in specific metas or strategies where its cost reduction condition can reliably be met, but in general, there are better options available for most decks.

You determine the cost to cast Hour of Revelation before you pay any of that cost. For example, if the only nonland permanents on the battlefield are Tezzeret the Schemer and nine Etherium Cells he’s given you, Hour of Revelation costs to cast. You may sacrifice three Etherium Cells to pay this cost, even though there are no longer ten or more nonland permanents after you produce .
