Fractal Tender, Creature — elf wizard, designed by Elizabeth Peiró first released in Apr, 2026 in the set Secrets of Strixhaven.
Fractal Tender would fit best in a Simic (green-blue) spells-matter or +1/+1 counters deck that can consistently cast higher mana value spells to trigger Increment, such as ramp-control shells, Simic midrange, or Commander decks built around +1/+1 counter synergies (like Ezuri, Claw of Progress, Vorel of the Hull Clade, or Kasmina-style spell builds). Because it rewards you for casting increasingly expensive spells, it pairs well with ramp, card draw, and proliferate effects, and it snowballs by producing 3/3 Fractal tokens each turn you successfully grow it. However, at five mana (3GU), it competes with very powerful Simic options like Esix, Fractal Bloom (which can turn token creation into stronger copies), Master Biomancer (which immediately scales your board), or even Tatyova, Benthic Druid for raw value; in faster formats it is likely too slow and vulnerable despite Ward {2}. In Standard-level power, it would be playable in a dedicated counters or ramp shell but not format-definin
