Dragon Mantle, Enchantment — aura, designed by Anthony Palumbo first released in Sep, 2013 in the set Theros and was printed exactly in 5 different ways.
A red aggro deck focused on quick creature-based damage would benefit from using Dragon Mantle as it provides card draw and a temporary power boost for the enchanted creature. While there may be better cards for similar effects, such as Rancor for a more permanent boost, Dragon Mantle could still see play in decks looking for a cheap and efficient way to pump up their creatures and maintain card advantage.

If the target creature is an illegal target by the time Dragon Mantle tries to resolve, it doesn’t resolve. It won’t enter the battlefield, so its enters-the-battlefield ability won’t trigger.
