Soundtrack #1 is a 2022 South Korean romantic drama directed by Kim Hee-won and written by Chae Yoon. It stars Han So-hee as Seo Eun-soo, a lyricist, and Park Hyung-sik as Han Sun-woo, a photographer. The four-episode series follows their long-standing friendship as it is tested by a professional deadline and feelings neither has plainly resolved. It premiered on Disney+ on March 23, 2022, and was also made available through South Korean platforms including TVING.

At the start, Eun-soo is struggling to write lyrics about unrequited love for a song commissioned by composer Yoon Dong-hyun, played by Kim Joo-hun. She believes she lacks the personal experience needed to make the words convincing. Sun-woo, her friend since childhood, has quietly loved her for years. When Eun-soo asks him to stay at her home for two weeks so she can observe someone living with one-sided affection, the arrangement gives his concealed emotions a new urgency.

Rather than building its story around a large ensemble or a prolonged courtship, Soundtrack #1 concentrates on the pair’s domestic routine and creative work. Eun-soo interviews Sun-woo about the ache of loving someone without being loved back, unaware that his answers are drawn from his own attachment to her. Her lyric-writing project therefore becomes a device for bringing their shared history into the open. The series uses Sun-woo’s photography and Eun-soo’s search for the right words as recurring parts of their respective work, while the approaching recording deadline presses the friendship toward a decision.

Han So-hee and Park Hyung-sik carry nearly every major turn in the compact format. Han plays Eun-soo as a working writer whose assignment makes her reconsider what she has taken for granted in Sun-woo. Park plays the reserved photographer whose patience masks a fear that candor could end the relationship he values. Kim Joo-hun appears as Dong-hyun, the composer connected to Eun-soo’s commission, adding an industry context to the song she must finish. Across its four episodes, the drama frames romance through a specific collaboration: a lyricist needs to understand unreturned love, and the person best able to explain it is the friend she has not fully seen. Its short run gives the story a self-contained arc rather than the extended plotting typical of longer Korean television dramas. The final episodes connect the completed song to Eun-soo’s recognition of Sun-woo’s devotion and force both friends to confront whether their bond can change.
