MobLand

MobLand is a crime drama series created by Ronan Bennett for Paramount+. It premiered on March 30, 2025, with its first two episodes released together. The story follows Harry Da Souza, a professional fixer played by Tom Hardy, as he works for the Harrigan family, a powerful London criminal organization. Harry attempts to keep peace between the Harrigans and the rival Stevensons while managing violence, loyalties, and pressures within his own home. The series uses that dispute to frame its examination of an organized-crime family whose alliances can become liabilities overnight in London's underworld, and police scrutiny reaches both sides. Tom Hardy plays Harry Da Souza, the Harrigans' fixer. Pierce Brosnan plays Conrad Harrigan, the family's patriarch, and Helen Mirren plays his wife, Maeve. Paddy Considine appears as Kevin Harrigan, while Joanne Froggatt plays Jan Da Souza, Harry's wife. Lara Pulver plays Bella Harrigan, Anson Boon plays Eddie Harrigan, and Mandeep Dhillon plays Seraphina Harrigan. Jasmine Jobson is Zosia, Harry's associate, and Geoff Bell plays Richie Stevenson. These named characters establish the Harrigan household and its opposing criminal faction, with Harry positioned between their interests and the demands of his marriage, family life, and security amid London's violent, modern criminal underworld. Ronan Bennett serves as creator and writer of MobLand. Guy Ritchie directed the first two episodes and is among its executive producers. Jez Butterworth also serves as an executive producer, alongside Hardy and others. The production began life under a different concept: it was originally developed as The Donovans, a Ray Donovan spinoff for Paramount+. The project was subsequently reworked into an original story with no connection to the Showtime drama's characters. That development history explains why early reports linked the series to Ray Donovan, even though MobLand ultimately centers on the Harrigans and Stevensons rather than the Donovan family. The series premiered in the United States and other Paramount+ markets on March 30, 2025. Its launch placed Hardy in a television lead role after notable film work including Mad Max: Fury Road, Venom, and The Dark Knight Rises. Brosnan and Mirren bring extensive screen careers to the Harrigan parents; Brosnan is known for portraying James Bond, while Mirren won an Academy Award for The Queen. MobLand pairs those actors with Bennett, whose previous television work includes Top Boy, and Ritchie, the filmmaker behind Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. That team gives MobLand a distinct creative identity.
