Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989, in Reading, Pennsylvania, and spent part of her childhood on a Christmas tree farm in nearby Wyomissing. She moved with her family to Hendersonville, Tennessee, at fourteen, seeking opportunities in Nashville's country-music industry. In 2006, Big Machine Records released her self-titled debut album, led by "Tim McGraw." Its songs, including "Teardrops on My Guitar" and "Our Song," made her a major young country performer. "Our Song," written solely by Swift, reached number one on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, establishing an early pattern of autobiographical writing and close involvement in her own material. Her second album, Fearless, arrived in 2008 and became a crossover success through "Love Story," "You Belong with Me," and the title track. At the 2010 Grammy Awards, Fearless won Album of the Year, making Swift, then twenty years old, the youngest recipient of that prize at the time. Speak Now followed in 2010; Swift wrote every song herself. Red, released in 2012, mixed country with pop and included "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," her first Billboard Hot 100 number-one single. Its expanded sound anticipated her full turn toward pop music on her next studio release in 2014. That release, 1989, was issued in 2014 and produced the Billboard Hot 100 leaders "Shake It Off," "Blank Space," and "Bad Blood." Her concert production, the Eras Tour, opened in Glendale, Arizona, in March 2023 and organized songs from across her album eras into a three-hour-plus set. The accompanying film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, reached cinemas in October 2023. In 2023, Time named Swift its Person of the Year. Her catalogue also includes songwriting credits under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg, used for "This Is What You Came For," recorded by Calvin Harris and Rihanna. She wrote it with Harris, who was credited as co-writer.
