Stingerback Terror kan nuttig zijn in een rood, agressief kaartspel dat tot doel heeft zijn hand snel leeg te maken om de -1/-1 straf te minimaliseren, waardoor het een krachtige vliegende vertrappingsdreiging wordt. De kwetsbaarheid voor handgrootte maakt het echter een riskante keuze, en andere kaarten zoals Stormbreath Dragon of Glorybringer kunnen een consistentere waarde bieden in een vergelijkbaar manakostenbereik, waardoor Stingerback Terror mogelijk wordt overschaduwd in competitief spel.
