Nicholas Dimitri Constantine Galitzine, born on 29 September 1994, is an English actor and singer. Raised in Hammersmith, London, he attended Dulwich College. He has credited a school trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with prompting his first acting audition. At the 2013 Fringe, Galitzine appeared in Spring Awakening. His film debut followed in The Beat Beneath My Feet (2014), a drama about teenage guitarist Tom, who befriends the withdrawn former rock musician Steve, played by Luke Perry on screen. In 2016, he played violinist Johnnie Blackwell in High Strung, a dance film set around a Manhattan arts school. That year, he was Conor Masters in Handsome Devil, an Irish boarding-school story in which rugby and music complicate an unlikely friendship. Galitzine joined the supernatural horror sequel The Craft: Legacy in 2020, portraying Timmy Andrews, one of three boys affected by a teenage coven's spell. In 2021, he played Prince Robert in Kay Cannon's musical film Cinderella, starring singer Camila Cabello. For Netflix's Purple Hearts (2022), Galitzine portrayed Luke Morrow, a U.S. Marine who enters a marriage of convenience with struggling musician Cassie Salazar, played by Sofia Carson. The film made their initially transactional relationship its central romantic and political conflict. He starred as Prince Henry Fox-Mountchristen-Windsor in Red, White & Royal Blue (2023), Amazon's adaptation of Casey McQuiston's novel. Henry begins a secret relationship with Alex Claremont-Diaz, the American president's son, played by Taylor Zakhar Perez, amid intense public scrutiny. Also in 2023, Galitzine played football player Jeff in Emma Seligman's satirical teen comedy Bottoms. He subsequently appeared in the television miniseries Mary & George (2024), portraying George Villiers, who becomes the powerful favourite of King James I at court. In The Idea of You (2024), directed by Michael Showalter, he played Hayes Campbell, the lead singer of fictional boy band August Moon. His character develops a relationship with Solène, a divorced art gallery owner played by Anne Hathaway there. Galitzine performed several songs for Cinderella, including “Somebody to Love,” and sang on the Purple Hearts soundtrack. His music work is integral to several screen roles: High Strung makes him a gifted violinist, while The Idea of You frames Hayes. His casting has repeatedly placed him in productions where performance and music intersect, but his credits span comedy, romance, fantasy, horror, historical drama, and dance film. Galitzine has worked with filmmakers Kay Cannon, Emma Seligman, Michael Showalter, and Oliver Hermanus.
