Luca Giuseppe “Luke” Pasqualino was born on 19 February 1990 in Peterborough, England. An actor of Italian descent, he became widely known through *Skins*, the British teen drama that changed its principal cast every two series. Pasqualino joined its second generation in 2009, playing Freddie McClair. Freddie is a skateboarder whose friendships with James Cook and JJ Jones form a central part of the show’s third and fourth series. His relationship with Effy Stonem becomes one of their main storylines. Freddie’s fate near the end of the fourth series is among the drama’s most shocking plot developments.
After *Skins*, Pasqualino appeared as Paolo, a stable boy involved with Lucrezia Borgia, in the historical drama *The Borgias*. He also played Greg in the 2012 supernatural horror film *The Apparition*, whose cast included Ashley Greene, Sebastian Stan and Tom Felton. A very different screen role followed in Bong Joon-ho’s *Snowpiercer* (2013). Pasqualino played Grey, a member of the group fighting its way through a train carrying humanity’s survivors across a frozen Earth. Chris Evans portrays leader Curtis. Unlike his dialogue-driven television parts, Grey communicates largely without speaking, relying on physical performance in the film’s crowded action sequences.
Pasqualino took the lead as young William Adama in *Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome*, a prequel to the reimagined *Battlestar Galactica* television series. The story follows Adama early in his military career, long before the events associated with Edward James Olmos’s portrayal of the older character. Originally developed as a pilot, *Blood & Chrome* premiered online in 2012 and subsequently aired on Syfy. From 2014 to 2016, Pasqualino starred as d’Artagnan in the BBC’s *The Musketeers*. The series follows the ambitious young swordsman as he joins Athos, Aramis and Porthos in seventeenth-century France. His co-stars included Tom Burke, Santiago Cabrera and Howard Charles.
In 2017, Pasqualino played Elvis Harte in the BBC military drama *Our Girl*, opposite Michelle Keegan as Georgie Lane. Elvis is a soldier with a personal history with Georgie, and their relationship gives the deployment storyline an emotional dimension. Pasqualino also led *Snatch*, the television crime series inspired by Guy Ritchie’s 2000 film, as Albert Hill. Its ensemble included Rupert Grint and Dougray Scott. The series ran for two seasons, beginning in 2017. Together, these credits show a career spanning British youth drama, science fiction, historical adventure and crime television, alongside internationally released films directed by filmmakers such as Bong Joon-ho.
