Kaia Gerber

Kaia Gerber is an American model and actor born on September 3, 2001, in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of model Cindy Crawford and businessman and former model Rande Gerber. Her family connection brought immediate public attention, but Gerber established her own fashion career through work with major designers, photographers, and publications.

Gerber signed with IMG Models in 2015, when she was thirteen. She made her runway debut in 2017, walking for Calvin Klein in New York under designer Raf Simons. During that season she also appeared for Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Coach, Fendi, Prada, Chanel, and other prominent houses. Her rapid rise led to recognition as Model of the Year at the 2018 Fashion Awards. In 2018, she and Crawford appeared together in the spring campaign for the label Omega, creating one of the clearest public links between their careers.

Her editorial work has included international editions of Vogue, British Vogue, American Vogue, and other fashion magazines. She has worked with brands including Versace, Saint Laurent, Valentino, Dior, and Marc Jacobs. In 2019, she collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld on a capsule collection called KarlxKaia, combining ready-to-wear pieces and accessories. Gerber expanded into acting with the 2016 film Sister Cities, in which she played Carolina. She later joined the cast of the television series American Horror Story: Double Feature, appearing as Ruby McDaniel in the “Death Valley” storyline. In 2022, she appeared in the comedy film Babylon, directed by Damien Chazelle, playing actress-turned-studio figure Joanna. She also had a role as Tanya in the Apple TV+ series Mrs. American Pie, which premiered in 2024.

Alongside fashion and acting, Gerber has been associated with literary and cultural projects. She founded the online platform Library Science during the COVID-19 pandemic, organizing conversations and programming centered on books and writers. The project grew from her stated interest in reading and literary discussion, rather than functioning as a traditional fashion brand.

Although her parentage made her debut unusually visible, her credits include independent projects, established fashion houses, and screen roles that have gradually broadened her public identity beyond being Crawford’s daughter.
