Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder sarebbe un ottimo inserimento per un mazzo incentrato sul lancio di un alto numero di incantesimi per sfruttare al meglio la sua abilità di cascata, in particolare in un mazzo che include una varietà di incantesimi a basso costo per massimizzare il valore del cascata in carte di impatto. Anche se potrebbero esserci altre carte potenti in Magic: The Gathering che offrono effetti simili, la combinazione unica di Yidris di travolgere e cascata lo rende un forte contendente per i mazzi che cercano di generare vantaggio di carte e creare turni esplosivi, rendendolo una carta degna di considerazione per giocare nella strategia giusta.
