Venser, forgeur savant, Créature légendaire — humain et sorcier, conçu par Aleksi Briclot sorti pour la première fois en May, 2007 dans l'édition Future Sight et a été imprimé exactement dans 9 formes différentes. Voir le jeu dans 2 formats: Commander and Duel Commander. C'est une carte-clé dans 5 combos.

Venser, Shaper Savant serait un excellent ajout à un deck de contrôle dans Magic: the Gathering, car il perturbe instantanément la vitesse en renvoyant un sort ou un permanent dans la main de son propriétaire. Bien que Venser soit une carte solide, il existe potentiellement de meilleures options comme Teferi, Time Raveler ou Cryptic Command qui offrent plus de polyvalence et d'options de contrôle. Cependant, Venser pourrait encore être utilisé dans certains méta-jeux ou comme alternative économique dans les decks recherchant des effets de rebond.

If a spell is returned to its owner’s hand, it’s removed from the stack and thus will not resolve. The spell isn’t countered; it just no longer exists. This works even against a spell that can’t be countered.
