Yidris, le manieur du Maelstrom, serait un excellent choix pour un deck axé sur le lancer d'un grand nombre de sorts afin de tirer parti de sa capacité de cascade, en particulier dans un deck comprenant une variété de sorts peu coûteux pour maximiser la valeur de la cascade dans des cartes impactantes. Bien qu'il puisse y avoir d'autres cartes puissantes dans Magic: The Gathering offrant des effets similaires, la combinaison unique de Yidris entre le piétinement et la cascade en fait un concurrent solide pour les decks cherchant à générer un avantage en cartes et à créer des tours explosifs, en faisant une carte qui vaut la peine d'être considérée pour jouer dans la bonne stratégie.
