Bien qu'il existe d'autres cartes qui peuvent remplir des rôles similaires, comme Torrential Gearhulk ou Jace, Vryn's Prodigy, l'efficacité et la flexibilité de Snapcaster Mage en font un candidat sérieux à l'inclusion dans les decks qui reposent sur des sorts instantanés et de sorcellerie.
