Harpie Pie-grièche, Créature : harpie, conçu par Christopher Moeller sorti pour la première fois en May, 2020 dans l'édition Born of the Gods.

Un deck qui se concentre sur le sacrifice des créatures de l'adversaire ou sur le contrôle du plateau bénéficierait de l'utilisation de Shrike Harpy dans Magic : the Gathering. Bien que Shrike Harpy puisse être un ajout puissant à une telle stratégie, il existe d'autres cartes comme Grave Pact ou Butcher of Malakir qui offrent des effets similaires plus efficacement. Shrike Harpy pourrait être joué dans certains decks de niche, mais pourrait ne pas être un premier choix dans des environnements plus compétitifs en raison de son coût en mana plus élevé et de la possibilité pour les adversaires d'atténuer ses capacités via la mécanique Tribut.

Players can’t respond to the tribute decision before the creature enters the battlefield. That is, if the opponent doesn’t pay tribute, the triggered ability will trigger before any player has a chance to remove the creature.

The choice of whether to pay tribute is made as the creature with tribute is entering the battlefield. At that point, it’s too late to respond to the creature spell. For example, in a multiplayer game, opponents won’t know whether tribute will be paid or which opponent will be chosen to pay tribute or not when deciding whether to counter the creature spell.
