Bien qu'il puisse y avoir d'autres cartes offrant des effets similaires, la flexibilité de Cyclonic Rift avec sa capacité de surcharge en fait un choix judicieux pour les decks cherchant à maintenir le contrôle du plateau. Il devrait certainement être joué dans des decks qui donnent la priorité au tempo et aux perturbations.
