Esta carta, Muerte Repentina, sería beneficiosa en un mazo de control que se centre en interrumpir la estrategia del oponente eliminando criaturas clave. Aunque tiene la ventaja de la rapidez dividida, impidiendo que los oponentes respondan con hechizos o habilidades de velocidad instantánea, existen opciones potencialmente mejores como Empujón Fatal o Desmembrar que ofrecen más flexibilidad o eficiencia para lidiar con amenazas. Sin embargo, Muerte Repentina aún podría verse en juego en metajuegos específicos donde -4/-4 es una reducción lo suficientemente significativa para manejar amenazas prevalentes.
