Esta carta puede ser particularmente poderosa en un mazo que tiene como objetivo generar valor copiando hechizos y criaturas, creando una fuerte presencia en el tablero y abrumando al oponente. Si bien Riku es una carta versátil y poderosa, puede haber mejores opciones dependiendo de la estrategia específica del mazo, como Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker para estrategias centradas en criaturas o Narset, Parter of Veils para mazos con muchos hechizos.
