A control deck that focuses on maintaining board presence and protecting key creatures would benefit from using Vigilant Drake, as its ability to untap itself can be a valuable defensive tool. While there may be better options for untapping creatures, such as Deceiver Exarch or Pestermite, Vigilant Drake could still see play in certain decks that require a flying blocker with untap potential.
