About Undergrowth Scavenger

Undergrowth Scavenger, Creature — fungus horror, designed by Nils Hamm first released in Jul, 2014 in the set Magic 2015.

A graveyard-focused deck that aims to fill both its own graveyard and the opponent's with creature cards would benefit from including Undergrowth Scavenger, as it can potentially enter the battlefield as a large threat for just 3 mana. However, there are better cards with similar effects in Magic: the Gathering, such as Tarmogoyf, which scales in power and toughness based on all card types in all graveyards, making it more consistently powerful and versatile. While Undergrowth Scavenger could be a fun inclusion in casual or themed decks, it may not see competitive play due to the existence of more efficient options like Tarmogoyf.

Rules

07/18/14

If Undergrowth Scavenger enters the battlefield from a graveyard, it will count itself when determining how many +1/+1 counters it enters with.
