Transmutation, Instant, designed by Susan Van Camp first released in Jun, 1994 in the set Legends and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It's a key card in 1 combos.
A deck focused on gaining advantage from manipulating power and toughness, such as a deck with creatures that have abilities based on their power or toughness, would benefit from using Transmutation. While it can be situationally useful, more versatile cards like Abrupt Decay or Dismember may be more impactful overall and could be considered better alternatives, possibly relegating Transmutation to a sideboard option for specific match-ups.

Because damage remains marked on a creature until the damage is removed as the turn ends, nonlethal damage dealt to a creature may become lethal if you switch its power and toughness during that turn.

Switching a creature’s power and toughness twice (or any even number of times) effectively returns the creature to the power and toughness it had before any switches.

Note that the wording “Effects that alter the creature’s power alter its toughness instead, and vice versa, this turn” has been removed.
