About Topan Ascetic

Topan Ascetic, Creature — human monk, designed by Sal Villagran first released in Oct, 2008 in the set Shards of Alara.

Topan Ascetic would be beneficial in a green-based aggressive deck that focuses on having multiple untapped creatures to pump up its power and toughness quickly. While it can be a useful card in certain situations, there are potentially better options like Prowess of the Fair or Ainok Bond-Kin that provide similar effects with added benefits, making Topan Ascetic less likely to see play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks.

Rules

10/01/08

Since Topan Ascetic’s activated ability doesn’t have a tap symbol in its cost, you can tap a creature (including Topan Ascetic itself) that hasn’t been under your control since your most recent turn began to pay the cost.
