However, there are potentially better options such as Bone Saw or Short Sword, which offer similar benefits at a lower cost. While Throwing Knife can be situational, it may see play in decks that can capitalize on its ability to deal direct damage while boosting a creature's power.

Throwing Knife’s triggered ability triggers before blockers are declared. If you use the ability and destroy the targeted creature with lethal damage, it won’t be on the battlefield to block.
