Thaumatog would fit well in a deck focused on sacrificing lands and enchantments for value, such as a Golgari or Selesnya Sacrifice deck in Magic: the Gathering. However, there are more efficient cards like Tarmogoyf or Death's Shadow that offer better stats for their cost without the need for sacrificing resources, making Thaumatog less likely to see competitive play in most decks.
