About Quest for the Gemblades

Quest for the Gemblades, Enchantment, designed by Karl Kopinski first released in Oct, 2009 in the set Zendikar.

Quest for the Gemblades would be beneficial in a green aggro deck that focuses on creature combat and wants to pump up its creatures for additional damage. However, there are better cards like Rancor or Aspect of Hydra that provide immediate and consistent boosts to creatures without the need for quest counters, making Quest for the Gemblades less competitive and unlikely to see play in most decks.

Rules

10/01/09

If there are no counters on Quest for the Gemblades yet, and simultaneously a creature you control deals combat damage to a creature and a creature you control is dealt lethal combat damage, the first ability will trigger too late for you to be able to activate the second ability and save your creature.

10/01/09

When the first ability resolves, you may put just one quest counter on Quest for the Gemblades. It doesn’t matter how much damage the source dealt.
