Perilous Forays would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on sacrificing creatures for value, such as a token-based deck or a deck with creatures that have dies triggers. While it provides ramp and fixing, there are more efficient cards like Harrow or Crop Rotation that offer similar effects at a lower cost or with additional benefits. However, Perilous Forays could still see play in decks looking for redundancy or specific synergies with sacrificing creatures for land ramp.

You may find any card with Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, or Forest on its type line. The land doesn’t need to be a basic land, so you can find a land such as Overgrown Tomb or Tropical Island.
