This card would be beneficial in a black aggro or midrange deck that focuses on aggressive creature strategies, as the +2/+0 boost and regeneration ability can help maintain board presence and pressure opponents. However, there are better options like Dark Favor which gives +3/+1 for the same cost and doesn't require additional mana to regenerate. While Molting Snakeskin could see play in certain situations, it may not be the most optimal choice compared to other similar cards available.
