Live Fast, Sorcery, designed by Ryan Yee first released in Sep, 2016 in the set Kaladesh and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
A deck that focuses on card advantage and resource generation would benefit from including Live Fast in its strategy, as it allows for card draw and energy generation at a relatively low cost. However, there are better alternatives like Night's Whisper or Sign in Blood that offer card draw without the life loss, making them more efficient choices. Live Fast could see play in decks that specifically require energy counters, but overall, it may not be the optimal choice for most competitive decks.

is the energy symbol. It represents one energy counter.

Energy counters aren’t mana. They don’t go away as steps, phases, and turns end, and effects that add mana “of any type” to your mana pool can’t give you energy counters.

Keep careful track of how many energy counters each player has. You may do so by keeping a running count on paper, by using a die, or by any other clear and mutually agreeable method.
