About Lightning Blow

Lightning Blow, Instant, designed by Harold McNeill first released in Jun, 1995 in the set Ice Age and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

This card, Lightning Blow, would be beneficial in a White aggressive deck looking to maintain board presence and card advantage. While it offers a temporary advantage with first strike and a card draw, there are more versatile options like Swords to Plowshares or Path to Exile for removal, or Brave the Elements for protection, which might be more impactful in a wider range of situations. Lightning Blow could see play in specific strategies that rely on early aggression and card draw, but its effectiveness may vary depending on the overall deck composition and game plan.

Rules

10/01/09

You may target any creature, not just one that doesn’t have first strike. If the targeted creature already has first strike as Lightning Blow resolves, Lightning Blow won’t affect it (since multiple instances of first strike are redundant), but you’ll still draw a card at the beginning of the next turn’s upkeep.
